'I never had the pleasure of meeting Redd Stewart, but I am certainly familiar with his outstanding accomplishments as a songwriter. A few of us are fortunate enough to perhaps have written one or two songs that are considered classics. Redd had several of the most played, performed and dearly cherished songs of all time. I am a huge admirer!
I did have the distinct pleasure of meeting Pee Wee King on a couple of occasions. I was a writer for the late Mary Reeves publishing company back in the seventies and Bud Logan was running her publishing company. Bud was the former bass player and leader of Jim Reeves Blue Boys.
The Blue Boys were still together and performing at functions at that time, and Bud Logan asked me to play bass in the group for the band as a vocalist. We worked several venues in the Nashville area and on a couple of the shows Pee Wee King was featured. He was a wonderful and interesting man to talk with. Needless to say, Pee Wee King is a legend, as is Redd Stewart. I will always be in high respect and admiration for $Redd Stewart and Pee Wee King.
I have been 'Tennessee Waltzing' in Nashville and Country music as a songwriter for nearly 36 years and it is forerunners like Redd and Pee Wee that paved the way for grateful songwriters like myself. It was an honor to visit this wonderful website.' (Charlie Craig (Professional Songwriter)/Mt. Juliet, TN)
