'Wanted to tell you that I was away for the weekend up to Blyth, Ontario to the Barn Dance Campout, and was speaking with founder, Earl Heywood of the Barn Dance Historical Society. He, of course was on CKNX Radio Station, and also worked there for many years. He is a wonderful historian and Country music friend, now over 85 and loves to chat.
I showed him one of my playlists with Redd's name and mine on the same list. While chatting he mentioned he had spoken with Redd and Pee Wee (in person) at some Country music function some years ago. They now have a museum in Wingham, near Blyth of Country music artists that have been on the Barn Dance over the years.
Earl asked me for a bio and picture of Redd, and he will be putting it there as well. Haven't been to the museum yet, but plan to go in the near future. One of the entertainers sang, 'The Tennessee Waltz' Saturday night and reminded me of the pleasantness of being in touch with you and learning about Redd. It's so nice to see his name on many playlists.' (Doreen/Canada)
