'My memory of Pee Wee King goes back to 1961. At that time I was stationed with the Air Force at Richards-Gebaur AFB outside Kansas City, Missouri. Pee Wee and his band were playing the NCO Club there, and I had asked the club manager if I could sing a song with Pee Wee's band. I waited for a while and left for home. The next day I was told that Pee Wee had asked for me to come to the bandstand to sing. I am sorry I missed that.
I have a copy of the sheet music of 'Tennessee Waltz' signed by Redd Stewart and Pee Wee with the songwriters gold seal no 216, that I got from the Country Music Hall of Fame, with a picture of Patti Page on it. I enjoyed their music, very much, and wish that we had more like them around today.' (Bob Ross/George D. Hay Music Hall of Fame & Foundation/Thayer, MO)
