Bob Timmers

Bob, the oldest of six children, was born in Appleton, Wisconsin March, 8, 1941 - so he was there when all the action started in the mid 1950s. During the 1970s and 1980s Bob spent most of his time with his family and the family's publishing business, but still kept one ear tuned to his roots ... rockabilly, early rock and traditional country music.  When Bob visited the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, He was disappointed to see displays that just didn't fit the mold of early rock and rockabilly. He then when on line to the rockabilly e-mail discussion group and suggested that someone form a real "Rockabilly Hall of Fame" and do it online to keep the cost down and the exposure up. Bob volunteered to give it a try and with the help of Joe Wajgel, the "Rockabilly Hall of Fame" was born March 21, 1997. He had the Rockabilly Hall of Fame name and logo registered and trademarked with the Federal Government, so no one else would be able to use (or miss-use) it.  June 5, 2000, Bob moved from Wisconsin to the Nashville, Tennessee area and set up the Rockabilly Hall of Fame office at  Burns Station Sound, 211 College St. in Burns, TN 37029. The building contains an excellent vintage recording studio, owned by Gordon D. Stinson.

Steve Turnbow
I started playing as a professional muscian in 1956, in clubs and honky tonks around the west Ky. area. I have played with many groups since the early days of my career, please forgive me if I leave anyones name off of this list. I have played lead guitar with the following persons or groups. The most famous fellow I ever played with was Carl Smith. I have played with DeWitt(Scotty) Scott, noted steel guitar player and member of the steel guitar hall of fame, Rick Charles, recording artist and song writer, Larry Rolens and the Country Playboys, Larry Rolens Jr. and Cottonwood, later known as Bay Wolf, Jerry Adams and the Country Music Machine, Stacey Collins, who now performs with the Lucky Star Band, Harold Bean and the Mid-nighters, Howard Bolton, and last but not least Tommy Jennings. I now perform as guitarist and vocalist with Margaret Penn, and as a single act, using recorded back ground tracks. I have enjoyed playing music for almost 50 years and have learned from the best musicians, traditional country music has to offer as entertainers. I play lead guitar, some steel, and perform vocals.
