Cancer Center Project Nationwide

Very few people today in our society haven’t been touched one way or another by the awful disease called cancer.  The diagnoses of hearing cancer is enough to make people give up all hope for life.  But that is changing, and we are close to eliminating this dreaded disease.  The diagnoses of cancer are no longer a “death sentence”.  With today’s research it is evident that the research for the cure for cancer is paying off with the number of people surviving cancer.

How Can You Help?

There are many ways - making donations, supporting legislation on a local and national level, getting involved in community events that raise money for the American Cancer Society, such as the Relay for Life, and giving of your time.

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society and is held all over the nation. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.

One of our newest friends from Utah has been so gracious and kind as to help us organize our new Cancer Center Project.  Cathy Sanchez, from Price, Utah works in the dietary department at Castleview Hospital.  Their hospital is in their ninth year of participation in the Relay for Life and has raised money for them by compiling a cookbook made up of recipes from employees, physicians, and volunteers.  You will find not only great recipes, but humor spread throughout the cookbook as well.  You can help find a cure for cancer by purchasing this cookbook and “Cooking for a Cure”. All proceeds of this cookbook are going to the American Cancer Society.  To purchase, send $10.00 per book and $2.00 shipping & handling to:
Castleview Hospital
Attn: Cathy Sanchez
300 North Hospital Dr.

(Please make checks out to: Castleview Hospital)

Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated. Another way to get involved in the cure for cancer is by simply donating your talent to help comfort those battling cancer. Many cancer treatments across the nation are looking for donation of this type.  Whether it is to make hats or wigs for patients, or books for cancer treatment patients.

ReddStewart.com Is Also Getting Involved!

We will be donating a free CD of Redd’s beautiful music to any & all cancer libraries or cancer treatment centers across the USA that request them! We can help comfort patients during their treatment with the sound of Redd’s music! If you know of a cancer treatment center and/or cancer library anywhere in the United States, please send us a complete address and contact person, and we will be more than glad to send a CD out to them

If each and everyone who reads this page simply bought one cookbook and provided one address of a cancer treatment center, imagine all the help for research and comfort for patients we could create!   If you would like to find out about activities, news, or resources in your area concerning cancer you can visit this web site.  www.cancer.org
